Why "dontgankthepencils"?
This originates from Quiz Bowl games back in Junior High. I can't remember what school specifically, but one school wrote "Don't Gank The Pencils" on all of the boards in the rooms because it's very common for the host to provide pencils which players (usually accidentally) steal, or "gank".
